JAGUAR SAFARI IN BRAZIL
Day 1: Arrive at Cuiaba and Transfer to Porto Jofre
Arrive at Cuiabá and meet your guide. Enjoy your lunch and travel to Porto Jofre. On the way to your hotel, you will make stops along the Transpantaneira Road to photograph caimans, birds and other animals. Arrival at Porto Jofre in the evening.
Overnight in Porto Jofre.

Day 2: In Search of Jaguars
Today is the first day of your jaguar safari on the rivers of Cuiabá, Tres Irmaos, Piquiri and other canals. This region is the Encontro das Águas State Park, the area with the highest concentration of jaguars in the world!
While searching for wild jaguars, we can also spot giant river otters, caimans, capybara, and birds! We will have a lunch stop at the lodge and then continue on safari in the afternoon until the end of the day.
Note: for the next days you can choose to have a packed lunch and stay on safari the full time.

Day 3 – 6: In Search of Jaguars
Full day jaguar safari.
Overnight in Porto Jofre.

Day 7: Discovering Rio Claro
After breakfast, we drive back on the Transpantaneira road until the Rio Claro area (3 hours). Lunch will be served at the lodge on arrival. Enjoy a boat safari on the Claro river to search for wildlife in the afternoon. You will appreciate the beautiful forest and the incredible sunset from the boat. After dinner, we go on a night safari by open vehicle.

Day 8: Boat Safari & Departure
Today will start with a final boat safari. You will also have the chance to see hawks who grab piranhas launched from the boatman. This is an excellent experience for photographers. Alternatively, the nearby forest can also be explored in search of birds and mammals (capybara, otters, tapir, jaguar). After lunch, we drive back to Cuiabá Airport, where the trip will end.

Porto Jofre
Hacienda Las Cuevas Terra Lodge (Standard)
This lodge is located only 30 minutes from Quito’s International Airport. It is an old hacienda with traditional but stylish rooms. It is surrounded by nature between the magical mountains of the Andes. It is a perfect place to start your adventure in Ecuador!
Rio Claro
Pousada Rio Claro (Classic)
The Lodge is located 42km away from the town Pocone, on the bank of the River Claro. It is an excellent place to enjoy the sunrise and sunset from the river and discover the local wildlife by boat. The Pousada offers 28 comfortable standard and premium rooms.
