We all know that sadly flying and mass-tourism in general has a negative impact on our Planet.
We believe this can be done differently, our holidays here at Eco Terra Adventures are focusing on a slower pace and on protecting our Natural World.
Most our holidays take place in remote reserves where your presence actually make a difference. By visiting these places you ensure that they are being kept for the future generation. Most private reserves rely on tourist to survive. These places are home to birds, mammals and amphibians and reptiles.
Deforestation and gold mining are some of the biggest threats in the neotropics, hence we are committed to support local projects and communities that is why we are full behind our friends at Khamai Foundation to protect two reserves in Ecuador, the Arlequin Reserve near Mindo and the Pitalala Reserve in the Amazon. If you decide to travel with us, a portion of our profit goes towards these two projects.
There is still a long way to go to decarbonise the travel industry, until then we try to lower our impact with the following practices:
- Small group tours (6-8 participants maximum)
- Encouraging to fly directly where possible
- Replacing flights with alternative transportation where possible within the destination
- Supporting local conservation projects
- Supporting local communities
- Using private reserves
- Using Eco-hotels and lodges where possible
- Focusing on off season with specific holidays
