Day 6 – 7: Herping around the coastal areas
We stay in the region, but we move to a different location for the following two days. During the day we will go to the coast near Kartong to check wells and look for the endemic Armitage’s skink (Chalcides armitagei), the only endemic vertebrate from Gambia.
During the night we will road cruise and hike for puffadders, Angolan garter snakes (Elapsoidea semiannulata), House snakes (Boaedon fuliginosus), Ball pythons (Python regius), Herald snakes (Crotaphopeltis hotamboeia), Egg-eating snakes (Dasypeltis gansi), Spotted Wolf snakes (Lycophidion albomaculatum) and many other reptiles.
Overnight near Siffoe.
