Day 2: Snorkelling in the Rio da Prata & Transfer to the Southern Pantanal

After breakfast, you will have the chance to snorkel in the crystal clear waters of Rio de Prata river. After a 20-minute drive, walk through the forest and enter this wonderful natural swimming pool, with exceptional visibility. Wear your diving suit and mask, listen to your guide’s instructions and enjoy the experience. Follow the stream while snorkelling and appreciating a fantastic underwater world! Lunch will be in a local restaurant, and then you will leave the Jardim area and head to the Southern Pantanal (4-hour drive). There will be chances to spot some animals on the way.

Day 3: Discover the Southern Pantanal

Rise early and enjoy photographing the birds that come for the feeders: Toco Toucans, Hyacinth Macaws, Cardinals, Nanday Parakeets are frequent visitors at the lodge. After breakfast, continue with a walking safari in search of Giant Anteaters, other mammals and birds. In the afternoon depart on a jeep safari and look for Jabiru storks, Caimans, Deer, Peccaries, Armadillos, and Capybaras.

Day 4: Boat Safari & Transfer to Campo Grande

Start the day with another delicious breakfast and then embark on a private boat safari on the Aquidauana River. Observe birds, mammals and reptiles in their natural habitat. After lunch, you will be transferred to Campo Grande for overnight.

Day 5: Fly to Cuiaba & Discover the Northern Pantanal

Breakfast will be served in the hotel; then you will be transferred to the airport and fly to Cuiaba.   Enjoy your lunch en route while heading to Porto Jofre. There will be some stops along the Transpantaneira road to photograph Caimans, Birds and other animals.

Day 6 – 8: In Search of Jaguars

Today is the first day of your jaguar safari on the rivers of Cuiabá, Tres Irmaos, Piquiri and other canals. This region is the Encontro das Águas State Park, the area with the highest concentration of jaguars in the world! While searching for wild jaguars, we can also spot giant river otters, caimans, capybara, and birds! We will have a lunch stop at the lodge and then continue on safari in the afternoon until the end of the day. Note: for the next days you can choose to have a packed lunch and stay on safari the full time.

Day 9: Discover Rio Claro

After breakfast, we drive back on the Transpantaneira road until the Rio Claro area (3 hours). Lunch will be served at the lodge on arrival. Enjoy a boat safari on the Claro river to search for wildlife in the afternoon.  You will appreciate the beautiful forest and the incredible sunset from the boat. After dinner, we go on a night safari by open vehicle.

Day 10: Boat Safari & Departure

Today will start with a final boat safari. You will also have the chance to see hawks who grab piranhas launched from the boatman. This is an excellent experience for photographers. Alternatively, the nearby forest can also be explored in search of birds and mammals (capybara, otters, tapir, jaguar). After lunch, we drive back to Cuiabá Airport, where the trip will end.
