Day 1: Arrive at Sao Paulo

Arrival at Sao Paulo Airport, meet your driver, and shuttle to your hotel.

Day 3: Bird Photography in the Atlantic Forest

Enjoy two full days at Trilha dos Tucanos lodge. Discover the trails around the lodge and photograph the birds by the feeders.

Day 4: Bird Photography & Transfer to Sao Paulo

Enjoy the last morning at the lodge before we head back to Sao Paulo after lunch. You will be transferred near the airport and stay there overnight.

Day 5: Fly to Cuiaba & Discover the Northern Pantanal

Catch your flight to Cuiaba in the morning and meet your guide on arrival. Lunch will be served in a restaurant in the city, and then you will be driven to the Pantanal. On the way to the Pantanal, you will make stops to photograph the wildlife concentrated in the water ponds. After arrival at the lodge, you have free time to discover the grounds and photograph birds. After dark, attend on a night safari and look for mammals and birds like Tapirs, Ocelots, Giant Anteaters, Crab-eating Foxes and Raccoons, Potoos, Owls and many more.

Day 6: Wildlife Photography at the Northern Pantanal

Spend the whole day around the lodge. You will explore water ponds with your guide where caimans and birds concentrate, which will offer some great photo opportunities. The feeders around the lodge will also provide some excellent opportunities photographing Toco Toucans, Chestnut-eared Aracaris, Crested Oropendolas, Purplish Jays and others. In the trails close to the accommodation you can photograph Hyacinth Macaws, and jeep safaris will provide the perfect opportunity to take pictures of Giant Anteaters and other mammals.

Day 7: Morning Photography & Transfer to Porto Jofre

Early morning photography at a water hole to take advantage of the best light. Back to the lodge for breakfast and leave to Porto Jofre. Along the road, we can find a lot of animals. Stop for lunch at a lodge en route, where the feeders can offer some new bird photos, such as the Orange-backed Troupial. Continue to Porto Jofre where your accommodation, dinner will be for the next days.

Day 8-10: Jaguar Photography Safaris

Today is the first day of your jaguar safari on the rivers of Cuiabá, Tres Irmaos, Piquiri and other canals.

While searching for wild jaguars, we can also spot giant river otters, caimans, capybara, and birds! We will have a lunch stop at the lodge and then continue on safari in the afternoon until the end of the day.

Note: for the next days you can choose to have a packed lunch and stay on safari the full time.

Day 11: Transfer to Rio Claro & Explore the Area

After breakfast, we drive back on the Transpantaneira road until the Rio Claro area (3 hours). Lunch will be served at the lodge on arrival. Enjoy a boat safari on the Claro river to search for wildlife in the afternoon.  You will have the chance seeing Ringed kingfishers, Green and Amazon Kingfishers, Pigmy Kingfishers and Agami Herons.

Day 12: Final Boat Safari & Departure

Today will start with a final boat safari. You will also have the chance to see hawks who grab piranhas launched from the boatman. This is an excellent experience for photographers. Alternatively, the nearby forest can also be explored in search of birds and mammals (capybara, otters, tapir, jaguar). After lunch, we drive back to Cuiabá Airport, where the trip will end.
