Arrive at Cuiaba and meet our team on arrival. Enjoy your lunch in the city and then travel to Chapada dos Guimarães (1 hour). Depending on the time, we can stop for a quick visit to the Véu de Noiva Waterfall and observe some birds around it. Arrive at the lodge in the afternoon and discover the different species of birds on the grounds.

Enjoy the last opportunity in the morning to observe the birds of Chapada, and then you will be transferred to the Pantanal (2h30m). Occupy your rooms and discover the birds around the lodge, such as Campo Flicker, Savanna Hawks, Buff-necked Ibis, Whistling Heron, Wattled Jacana and many others. After dinner, you will depart on a night safari looking for night birds, such as Nacunda nighthawk, Pauraque, Common and Great Potoos, Great Horned Owl Boat-billed Heron. You may also see some mammals on the way like the Crab-eating Fox, the Tapir, or the Giant Anteater.

Wake-up early and start the day with a birding excursion looking for Hyacinth Macaws, Red-legger Seriema, Sunbittern, Plumbeous Ibis, Green Ibis, Bare-faced Ibis, Cocoi and Refuscent Tiger Herons, Jabiru Stork, Snail Kite, Southern Crested Caracara, Southern Lapwing, Blue-crowned Trogon, Pale-crested Woodpecker and many more. After lunch, we leave the lodge and drive to our next destination within the Pantanal. We will be making stops along the Transpantaneira road to spot Limpink, Little Blue Heron, Jabiru Stork, Wood Stork, Large-billed and Yellow-billed Terns, Ringed Kingfisher.

Start the day with birding at the lodge. This location can offer a great variety of exotic birds. After lunch, we drive to Porto Jofre, making stops along the way.

Morning birding around the lodge, and after lunch, we drive to the Rio Claro area.

Depart on a boat safari on the Rio Claro looking for gallery forest birds. After the boat trip, there will be time to observe some birds in the lodge’s garden like the Chestnut-bellied Guan, Yellow-billed Cardinal, Nanday Parakeets, Scaly-headed Parrot, Turquoise-fronted Parrot, Shiny Cowbird, Giant Cowbird, Toco Toucan and others. In the afternoon we drive back to Cuiabá, with the chance to spot some missing birds along the Transpantaneira road. Accommodation in a hotel close to the airport.

Fly back to São Paulo and meet your guide at the airport. Drive to Jacu Birding Lodge (3 hours) which is located in the forests of Ubatuba. You can observe Green-headed-, Sayaca-, Palm- and Goldenchevroned Tanagers, Violaceus and Chestnut-bellied Euphonia, Blue Dacnis, Bananaquit and many others at the birdfeeders of the lodge.

Today you will visit a private hummingbird garden where we can see: Saw-billed Hermit, Festive Coquette, Brazilian Ruby, Sombre Hummingbird, Black Jacobin, Black-throated Mango, Violet-capped Woodnymph, Reddish hermit, but also Red-necked Tanager, Brazilian Tanager, Blue Dacnis, Green Honeycreeper and others.

The transfer to Itatiaia NP can take over 4 hours. We stay here three nights in order to explore both the low and high park.
