Day 2: Begin Your Pantanal Adventure at Piuval Lodge

Welcome to the Pantanal! Join us as we meet our expert local guide in the morning and set off on an exciting journey to Piuval Lodge (1h:30m drive).

In the afternoon, immerse yourself in the heart of nature with a captivating walking safari. Our forest trails offer prime opportunities for remarkable wildlife encounters. From capuchin monkeys to hyacinth macaws, the Pantanal’s vibrant ecosystem comes alive through your lens. Capture the magic of the sunset while photographing a mesmerizing flock of birds returning to their nests from the observation tower.

After dinner, brace yourself for an unforgettable night safari in search of elusive nocturnal creatures.

Day 3: Searching for Giant Anteaters and Iconic Pantanal Birds

At the Piuval Lodge, awaken early for a chance to spot the majestic giant anteaters in their natural habitat. As the sun rises, we venture out on an open truck safari, encountering the Pantanal’s iconic avian residents – hyacinth macaws, chestnut-bellied guans, and more. Capture the grace of the Sunbittern and the magnificence of the toco toucan through your lens.

Our safari conclude around 10:00 due to the tropical heat, leaving you free to relax before lunch.

In the afternoon, our journey along the Transpantaneira road leads us to Porto Jofre, the land of the Jaguar.

Day 4 – 7: In-Search for Jaguars

Enjoy four consecutive days of jaguar safaris along the Cuiabá River and its tributaries.

Immerse yourself in the untamed beauty of the Pantanal as we seek out these elusive big cats in their natural habitat. Your camera will capture the power and elegance of the jaguars as they roam the riverbanks. Full-day experiences enriched with delicious meals will fuel your creativity.

Day 8: Transition to Rio Claro

Our last morning at Porto Jofre is dedicated to exploring the diverse wildlife around the lodge.

Embark on a scenic journey to Rio Claro Lodge, stopping for a delightful lunch en-route. Upon arrival, prepare for a captivating boat safari along the gallery forest. Capture the vivid colours of kingfishers, the elegance of herons, and the playful giant river otters.

At night you can see the Ferruginous Pygmy-Owl and the Tropical Screech-Owl near the lodge.

Day 9: Boat Safari & Travel to Cuiaba

Begin your day with a hearty breakfast before embarking on a 3-hour bird photography safari along the Rio Claro River. Discover the abundance of avian life, from wading birds to parrots, hawks, and more. The lodge’s garden is a haven for some unique species, like the Nanday Parakeet, Blue-crowned Parakeet, Scaly-headed Parrot, Blue-and-yellow Macaw, Purplish Jay, Southern crested Caracara, Bare-faced Curassow and many more.

As we depart for Cuiabá (a 3-hour drive), your camera will carry the memories of an unforgettable adventure.

Day 10: Departure Day

Depart from Cuiaba individually. A private trip extension to the Amazon, Chapada dos Guimaraes or to Iguassu Falls are available on request.
